Britain Speaks: Deport Violent Illegal Migrants to Protect Women
A new YouGov poll commissioned by the Women’s Policy Centre shows overwhelming support for deporting violent illegal migrants and growing fears for women’s safety.
PUBLIC BACKS TOUGH ACTION: NEW POLL SHOWS OVERWHELMING SUPPORT FOR DEPORTING VIOLENT ILLEGAL MIGRANTS AND GROWING FEARS FOR WOMEN’S SAFETY
The Women’s Policy Centre today reveals striking new YouGov polling that lays bare the public’s deep concern about illegal migration and its impact on women’s safety in the UK.
Key findings include:
- 93% of the public supports deporting illegal migrants who are guilty of rape and other violent crimes.
- 67% believe illegal migration has a negative impact on women’s safety across the country.
These results send a clear and urgent message: Britain wants firm, decisive action. The public overwhelmingly rejects complacency toward violent offenders who enter the UK illegally. They understand the consequences, and they want protection, not excuses.
Paola Diana, the Chair of the Women’s Policy Centre, said: “The British public could not be clearer. Women’s rights and women’s safety are under threat, and people across the country recognise that illegal migration is part of that problem. The staggering majority demand that violent offenders who come here illegally should be removed from our communities. Anything less is a failure to safeguard women and girls.”
The Women’s Policy Centre is calling for immediate political leadership to prioritise women’s safety, uphold basic standards of justice, and ensure that the UK is not a safe haven for violent offenders. Closing the borders is a matter of women’s safety and public security.
